Flood warning systems give early warning when a river
raises its level above a safe limit. These would normally take into account
other factors and historical archived data to compare past events with a
present circumstance and predict what will happen should the present event
continue.
The data is gathered from many areas often utilising data
loggers and telemetry outstations which monitor river levels, ground water
levels, rain gauge (Tipping buckets) inputs. |
