Data can be retrieved from TRM 2000 in a variety of
ways, ranging from a rugged Hand Held Terminal, a Palmtop or a Laptop PC.
The PSION Workabout Hand Held Terminal (HHT) offers a rugged and
straightforward means of communicating with TRM. It can be used to both install
the device and to view readings as they occur, or to retrieve data from a
logging session. The HHT is operated by its own menu driven software
coupled with simple key pushes on its keypad. It has a large LCD display which
can be backlit, if required.
The HHT is supplied with up to 4MB RAM.
This, depending upon the selected log period and length of the logging
sessions, enables data from well in excess of 10 TRMs to be retrieved by a
single HHT. Once data has been retrieved, it can be uploaded to a PC by means
of an upload cable, supplied with the HHT, and the M Squared program Naiad.

The Naiad Windows program enables data to be uploaded from
the HHT and saved to file on a PC. Naiad is a Windows 95 program and, as such,
has all of the standard features such as push button control, pull-down menus
and comprehensive, on-screen help. The Help file, covers all aspects of the
Naiad program, plus details of the HHT and Tuber operation, which may be
printed as necessary.
Data files can be viewed in tabular or graphical
format within Naiad or exported into most standard spreadsheet or database
programs for further analysis. |
